Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 29 July, 2026

Welcome

Thank you for choosing to join one of my live online creative workshops.

My aim is to provide welcoming, supportive and inspiring creative experiences where participants can explore, experiment and create in a respectful environment.

These Terms & Conditions explain the agreement between you and me when you book a workshop through my website. By making a booking, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Boating Botanist

These workshops are provided by:

Business name: Boating Botanist
Registered address: Dijkhof 14, 4021 GE Maurik, the Netherlands
Chamber of Commerce (KvK)number: 42037913
VAT (btw) number: NL005448265B61

Email: boatingbotanist@gmail.com

Throughout these Terms, “I”, “my” and “me” refer to the business above. “You” refers to the person making the booking.

2. My Workshops

I offer live online creative workshops that take place on scheduled dates and times using Zoom.

Our workshops are designed as creative leisure experiences for adults. They are intended to encourage creativity, exploration and personal expression rather than provide accredited education or professional qualifications.

Each workshop description on my website forms part of these Terms.

3. Booking a Workshop

Your place is confirmed once:

  • your booking has been completed;

  • full payment has been received; and

  • you receive a booking confirmation by email.

Workshop places are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

4. Prices

Whether or not you pay VAT over the service provided is dependent on your location in the world. If applicable, VAT will be applied at checkout.

Prices may change at any time but will not affect bookings that have already been confirmed.

Tiered Pricing

To help make my workshops accessible to as wide an audience as possible, I offer several pricing options for the same workshop. Every participant receives exactly the same workshop experience, regardless of the price paid.

I trust participants to choose the pricing option that feels appropriate for their personal circumstances. I do not ask for evidence or proof of eligibility.

Your choice of pricing tier does not affect your rights under these Terms.

5. Payment

Payment is due in full at the time of booking.

Payments are securely processed by Stripe.

I never receive or store your complete payment card details.

6. Joining the Workshop

Online workshops are delivered remotely and live via Zoom.

  • It is your responsibility to ensure that you have:

  • a reliable internet connection;

  • a suitable computer or device;

  • a working camera and microphone;

  • Zoom installed before the workshop begins;

  • art supplies and other materials to work with.

I cannot be responsible for technical problems caused by your own equipment or internet connection.

7. Respecting the Creative Space

I want every participant to feel comfortable sharing ideas and exploring their creativity. By joining a workshop, you agree to treat all participants with kindness, respect and consideration. You must not:

  • behave in a way that is abusive, discriminatory or disruptive;

  • harass other participants;

  • record the workshop without permission;

  • take screenshots or photographs of other participants without their consent;

  • share another participant’s creative work without their permission.

If your behaviour seriously disrupts the workshop or compromises the safety of other participants, I reserve the right to remove you from the session without a refund.

8. Recording Policy

Our live workshops are generally not recorded. This is an intentional choice to help create a safe, open and supportive environment where participants feel comfortable experimenting and sharing their creative process.

If unforeseen technical difficulties on my side prevent me from delivering the live workshop (for example, a significant internet outage) I may instead provide registered participants with access to a pre-recorded version of the workshop or offer an alternative live session.

Any recording provided in these circumstances is for the personal use of registered participants only and may not be copied, shared or distributed.

9. Intellectual Property

All workshop materials that I provide, including presentations, handouts, written materials, demonstrations and other content, remain my intellectual property unless I state otherwise.

You may use these materials for your own personal learning and creative practice.

You may not:

  • reproduce or distribute my workshop materials;

  • record the workshop;

  • share workshop materials publicly;

  • sell or commercially use any part of my content without my written permission.

Your Creative Work

Everything you create during a workshop remains entirely your own intellectual property. I will never publish, display, reproduce, share or use your creative work for marketing, promotional or any other purposes without first obtaining your explicit permission. Sharing your work during a workshop does not transfer ownership to me or to any other participant.

10. Workshop Changes and Cancellation by Me

Occasionally, circumstances beyond my control (e.g. too few participants) may require me to postpone, reschedule or cancel a workshop. If this happens, I will offer you the choice of:

  • rescheduling;

  • access to a recorded session;

  • a refund for the affected session or course.

If a workshop must be interrupted due to technical difficulties, I may reschedule the remaining session or provide a suitable alternative (such as a recording).

11. Cancellation by Participants

My cancellation and refund arrangements are explained in my separate Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

12. Liability

I take great care in planning and delivering my workshops.

However, participation is entirely voluntary, and each participant remains responsible for how they choose to use the ideas, techniques and creative processes explored during the workshop.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, my liability is limited to the amount you paid for the workshop.

13. Consumer Rights

My workshops are live creative leisure activities that take place on specific dates and times.

Where applicable consumer legislation provides that a statutory right of withdrawal does not apply to bookings for such services, that exemption shall apply.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any mandatory rights that consumers have under applicable law.

14. Privacy

I process your personal information in accordance with my Privacy Policy.

15. Changes to These Terms

I may occasionally update these Terms to reflect changes to my business or to legal requirements. The version published on my website at the time you make your booking will apply to your purchase.
